The SIR is the Japanese Domestic Model (JDM) version of the Civic.

Edit:
Haha... I don't even remember posting this. This must have been just before I went to bed (I've obviously woken up now :p). Anyway, sorry for such a useless post, I'm going back to bed (I only got up to eat). Adios

SiR is a badging used by the japs
just like Type R is the top variant of civics
SiR is the 2nd best variant or Si if your in america
as for what it stands for
im REALLY guessing
so dont flame me
Si MIGHT be like sports injected or something and R is racing
anyway, its something like that, i dont think it matters anyway
its like asking what WRX stands for, who cares
in aus, we use a different badging for out b16 civics the civic vti-r
this is nearly the same to the japanese SiR but not quite

Think of the SiR as the Jap equivalent of the Vti-R :)

+ 10hp if used with correct fuel ^_-

If the SIR = Sports Injected Racing
What does the VTI-R stand for?

VTiR = Vatiable Timing injection Racing - its UK varient is VT

SiR is the top of the range in Japan for the 4th and 5th gen Civics and 2nd and 3rd gen CRXs. With the 6th gen, it became the second highest in the range with the CTR taking top honours. SiRs are B16A powered cars that make 160-170ps.

Don't ever own a JDM SiR - it makes you realise the total sh|t that Honda Australia have been bringing in over the years :D

BTW - in Canada, the SiR is actually a USDM Si Coupe... also known as a 6G VTiR coupe in Australia.

I love my SiR =] so much fun to drive.

Some of the features the SiR has over the Si (CRX)

Leather side bolsters, Climate Control, Bigger brakes, Velour door trim and of course the B16a motor. Not exclusive to the SiR but exclusive to the japanese CRX models is the glass roof and leather rear seats.

Climate control was available on all EF Civics and CRXs - not just the EF8/EF9 :)

I love my EF9 for being different too - and being an infinitely better car than the Aussie varients. I actually rate it better than the Aussie EK4 in terms of trim... prolly the EM1 as well... but I like the EM1 shape ;)
