Just wondering, do you have these for a 2003 Honda Civic Gli (non-vtec) and if so cost & what sort of power gains am I looking at with just the aftermarket ecu? obviously i would want you to tune it for me :d

BLKCRX
23-11-2004, 05:27 PM
Sadly there are not Hondata solutions for 2003 Honda Civic Gli (non-vtec)
the only current engines supported by Hondata are the k20 engines in the Tegs.

Interesting price structure James,

If you can afford to operate on those discounted prices, it suggests to me that these prices are normally inflated 28%. Interesting marketing my friend :)

How about a rebate to those who paid full price :), now that WOULD be putting the customer first!

does that mean initial tuning takes 5 hours?!

edit: sorry, not trying to be rude, just trying to figure out if this is a good option for me. im running a stock vtir at moment. and curiousity has got the better of me, seeing as its soo cheap for the actual hondata. to be honest, my future mods do not include exhuast mods. my only mod is a muffler. if i was to continue to mod, id would possibly rather intake mods, gearbox/clutch/flywheel upgrade and things like that. maybe even internals at a LATER stage.

is there much point in me going for an aftermarket ecu?

is there much point in me going for an aftermarket ecu?You will get good gains even on a STD car but it is when you do mods that the Hondata really shows the true power of the other mods.In regards to the 5hrs to do the initial tuning that price is to install + dyno + road tune the setup if you have not seen a unit installed it takes upto an hour just to get the unit in the car the car setup on the dyno then upto 5hrs of tuning then out on the road to do part throttle work.I have always tried to discount the tuning cost of Hondata products and that is why I have done this with James as a fixed install + tuning cost to help you guys out so that you enjoy your HONDA even more than you do now.

Sure guys, I have numerous car’s around Australia that I have tuned completely stock, from stock b16 crx and civic to stock dc2 type r and dc5’s.

Civics and CRX’s respond superbly to tuning a totally stock car, with large increases in driveability and top end power, generally I see a extra 200 – 500rpm out of the engine making power all the way to redline. DC2’s are a interesting car to tune, modify the airbox and advance the ignition a little and dump some extra fuel in there and they make huge increases…. Its all about the tuning and Hondata gives you just that. As for DC5 and the newer Hondas, well these car’s are truly amazing were seeing a minium of 20% more power on these car’s totally stock, transforming them from a dull car into a true driving experience.
