check your coolant to see if there's any air bubbles, are there any evident oil leaks in the engine bay?

h22's have been known to do this, mine did.
when i got the car tuned however the tuner got rid of it, so yeah your just gonna have to put up with it there probably isnt anything wrong with your engine

mine blows a bit of smoke, not much but yeah...
Maybe the o2 sensors? burning too much fuel? Dunno....

If its excessive then perhaps your car was previously owned by james bond.
They may have installed a special smoke screen for when you gun it?

lol gamus
yeah mate preludes will do it, get it tuned and itl go away just real rich up top if u got black smoke. if its White you got coolant leaking in to the combustion process like they have said. Take it to a mech and get it checked if he says no mechanical issue then yeah you'll have to deal with it

What oil are you using atm?

You are low on engine oil
Change the oil or top it up

Low oil wouldn't make it smoke. I'd be more worried about the engine seizing. Most probably worn rings and a buggered PCV valve if it isn't coolant since it's a mix of colour. You'll only notice it after 3k rpm as the engine isn't passing enough gasses for it to be visable in the mirror at lower rpm. Get someone to drive behind you and watch for smoke below 3k rpm after you've given it some stick.
Either way some thicker oil wouldn't hurt on an older engine like yours.

I still maintain that its normal for vtec to burn oil. Hows your oil level?

done all your services? does the smoke pour out like a truck or what and how's your fuel consumption?
i don't notice any smoke in low cam but as soon as vtec engages quite a bit of greyish/black smoke will come out.
enough smoke will come out to cover the car behind at night but it's not too thick or anything...

What do you mean by 'tuned' it? Did they just put a thicker oil in it or replace the O2 sensor or something?

apexi neo or vafc tuning.

apexi neo or vafc tuning.
Your average mechanic doesn't do dyno tuning. And from the previous response it doesn't sound like it was an expensive fix.

check your oil levels, could be to much oil.
check your spark plugs/ ignition leads.
happened to mee, had to much oil and one of the spark plugs died so the car was working on 3 cylinders.
it was in my nissan pulsar, loads and loads of smoke when you press the accelorator pedal. soo muchh of it.
