ED stereo instal problem - something missing?

I pulled the old head unit out today and who ever installed it has done a bogey job, folding up little bits of steel and riveting them to the head unit.

Anyway All I have to work with is a big gap with two holes on either side.

My question is: should there be a cradle or a shelf or something in there that the previous owner has thrown out?

There should be a bracket in there dude, you slot the headunit into it usually.

even though the car doesnt have a bracket im sure you get one when you go out and buy a new headunit so just use that

Just use the bracket that you get with the headunit that you buy.

i realised for my ef aswell

it doesnt have a headunit mount for the aftermarkets,

only mounts up to the OEM headunit. ubber fail

thanks guys. I sussed it out, the head unit mounts onto the plastic not the steel frame underneath :)
