So does this mean the US eBay keys will work on our cars too?

I noticed the US ones have 4 buttons - one for a panic alarm, otherwise they look identical

New blanks with the decoders are selling for around $30 US on US eBay, but I don't know for sure if they will work on Aus models. My local Honda dealer quoted me $300 to supply cut and program, which I think is a bit rich. If I don't buy a US one, I will buy a local one from the dealer and get it cut myself, and then shop around for the cheapest dealer to program it. It means a little bit of running around but I always feel better when I haven't been screwed over by a dealer

I had a look at one of the ones for sale in the US but I believe the frequency for the remote locking and unlocking is different. But if you can live without it then you will need to have the transponder to talk to the car. Does anyone know if this can be done on those keys and how much Honda charges to do that.

I found a couple from Ebay.co.uk. They've got some Civic ones with two buttons with the same remote locking frequency as our Euro's. Just ordered one and ordered a blank key with a blank transponder from the US. Hope I haven't wasted my money on those.

Just need to find someone who will program the transponder for me.

Ok....
Just got the keys today. I bought a used key from the UK that had the same keyless entry unit. And bought another one from the US for a 2004 US Accord.

Now my problem is that the keyless entry works. Just managed to program it. But I just realised that the US model Blank Key has a different transponder. It's got a ID46 or something like that. But the ones here use ID 8E Glass transponder.

So does anyone know if I can use the transponder from the UK Accord key to be programmed. Or are the transponders just one off where you can't program them after they have been programed. Going to go see a dealer tomorrow to see if they can help me out.
