car alarm not working

I have a problem with my car alarm, the noise it makes for locking and unlocking the car doesn't sound off anymore.
It sorta slowly died out over time, and the same thing happened for the back up siren when ever i disconnected the battery. it used to work then slowly got softer and softer as time went on.

Remote still works, locking still works, sensors still work, little red light still works, flashing lights still work, alarm still works, just no noise.

Any ideas????

it may be something you can set... i know that i can adjust the setting in my alarm to only flash, or not flash, chirp or not chirp etc...

did you install yourself?

no this came with the car, trust me its not something i set it to do, it literally went from "BEEP BEEP BEEP" to "beep beep" to "b b" to nothing over the course of 6 months.

have you checked that the siren is still working? maybe it got soaked in water or something

most likely the actual siren in your engine bay. you should have a special key to adjust the volume itself, so give that a turn.
