ok, im running an ek with a b18c with the stock airbox.
looking around at the cai avail, there r a few used injen ones avail, but i believe the piping wont actually drop into the hole that is in the ek engine bay as its too far to the left.
what have people dont to run a cai in terms of piping as well as getting a filter in the bumper "void" and actually getting air into it.
my car has the ek9 front bar, so no air ducts so to speak, i can cut some plastic away.
just after suggestions for piping solutions, otherwise i asked a mate in regards to a custom fabricated setup, and its a little on teh expensive side, with 4 bends, clamps bits and pieces and a blitz sus filter, it was around the $900 mark
whereas the 2nd hand injens r $350 odd but i dont think they sit right

Tell the place to **** off $900 is wayyyy to much for a custom piece.

well, the b18c engine sitting in my ek engine bay sits nice, however the stock airbox of the b18c is not directly over the ek hole where the stock airbox of a civic engine would be. if u can follow that.
anyway, teh injen intakes for the dc2r fit the dc2r engine bay, but would they fit the ek engine bay, or would some amount of modifying be needed for it to fit in the hole.
ill take pics if ur confused

which b18c head do you have
p72 or pr3?
if it's a pr3 get the cai for a ek4/ek9/em1 and it should bolt up
got to be a bit more creative if you got a p72 head though(unless you're running the skunk2 intake manifold)

thanks vinny, very helpful, any links to these.
how do i know what head it is? is it marked?

generally
pr3 = from b16 or b18c7(dc2r)
p72 = from b18c2(teg vti-r)

the pr3 head's intake manifold will be a half C curve into the head
the p72 head's intake manifold will look like 4 snails next to eachother

the big difference between the two is where the throttle body sits
pr3 is higher, p72 is lower

any idea what car your b18c came from?

ohh is see what his problem is now. the dual stage vtir manifold sits very low. Well you either can change to a aftermarket intake manifold and run a injen or so will end up costing you round the same for the custom piece you got quoted. Which i rekoon you should cause the vtir manifold is crap, only good for fuel economy.

I'd be more inclined to run with this route everyone's using atm, mind the engine of course but focus on the end route, that's my next idea of running cai for next yr :)
