buy a very cheap run around car..
eg civic or even an older civic.. then use some money to learn how to drive manual..
after u save up a bit more.. then spend the money on something that you'll enjoy more..

12 grand is a lot of money for an EK. you should be getting a very low mileage, completely spotless car - i wouldn't settle for anything less if you're paying that sort of money for a 10 year old car
you'll be fine. can't go wrong with Honda reliability :)

haha..you just gotta search harder or engine conversion, buy a b16a motor ( Civic Ek Vti-R are equiped with b16a engines) and put it in.
therefore you know how much KM's was on the motor when purchased, problems with engine etc.

What a waste of a B16 - attached to an automatic gearbox?
By the way, I think a few of you missed the point of this thread - he's just looking for a run around car, not a race spec B16 equipped with ITBs, heh.
I think you should be able to find a nice EG6 that has been taken care of for well under $12,000.

welcome mate
ek4 would be good even if you only want a run around, b16a is a great little engine for what it is :D
