Hi
Am a newbie. Have a beautiful Silver/Black Year 2000 S2000 - am living overseas but intend to be back in Oz for a few months and am thinking of sending my ride back so I can cruise in it over summer. Just wondering if there are any problems selling a grey import and what sort of $ I might be able to get for it in a few months time - to see whether it makes any sense to ship it back. Happy to break even but if I'm going to lose money I might not do it. Immaculate condition, only 45,000 odd kms, got service records. Any input gratefully received!

Seriously depending on the condition of your's. '00 with 45K on clock will fetch a price in the $30K. It being an import hold's no advantage over a AUS version, as there all much the same other than some minor non performance changes, also depending on country origin. The service records mean nothing in a foreign country. IMO it wouldn't be worth your while as S2000's are worth peanuts these days.
Good luck anyway.

if it was a special edition, like a CR from America with all the options definate price increase
as above though in terms of a base model sale, they're cheaper than z cars now which is really surprising as they're a heck of alot more reliable :)

errr....
The VGS S2000 from Japan can be a grey import.
You cna import any car you want, so long as you cna provide ownership details, work history, pay slips & what not for the past 12 months or more..

you only need to pull the car apart if you want to avoid paying taxes for it being a import.. and if you pull the car apart and import it as parts you will have a hard time re-complying it...
