my mechanic has a h22a with manual gearbox out of a 93 lude, for $200, my eg is a carby and i have plans for track work. i think labour should cost 1500, but what about ecu fuel tank etc..could anyone give me a rough price of the final drop?

you'll need to add swap mounts, axles, suspension and brakes to that list. if you plan on tracking it your gonna be looking at an upgraded radiator. list goes on.... looks like you should be doing some researching first ;)

What sort of track work? Drag? Then you are getting a good deal on the basics but all the other bits will cost you a small fortune. The H22A will make a good drag engine but your setup will be crucial. If you're thinking of circuit work then the H22A is a poor choice IMHO. Your setup will require specialised suspension, brakes, brake pads, as well as steering setup, wheels and tyres, to get the best out of it. There are other lighter options - don't be swayed by the cheapness of the initial package. Do some homework and add up everything else you'll need and I think you'll see its not such a good deal at all. This is my opinion, FWIW. The only winner will be the person doing the work installing the engine. You'll need an EFI conversion, specialised fuel pump(s), fuel lines, brakelines, etc

well considering its 200 id get the mechanic to pull the thing apart and check it up and down even if he charges you it'll be cheaper in the long run to do that then to install it and have it slowly fall apart on you. you need mounts wiring harness ecu modded drive shafts thats all i can think of atm. set aside money to make an exhaust and intake.

if a h22a engine and gearbox costs around 2k or 2.5k minus 200 dollars then thats how much you are saving. still need to fork out however much for all the other parts to make it work plus brakes, suspension and wheels which you should be upgrading along with that.
