Will surrounding areas be damaged from the heat from an exposed cat? There are currently no heathshields present on it, on the cat AND above the cat.

I don't want stuff melting, after remember that catalytic converters only are effective from 1000 degree celsius up.

There is a good deal of room (~ 1.5 to 2" space between the cat and the body).

Thanks to 2MPRES and Adwin (go dinner sometime yo).

I took it out for a spin and had a quick peak under, everything seems ok. i'll just drive like this until the car goes to the exhaust shop sometime soon then.
