Mugen Bodykit for FD1

Hey Guys,

Got a really noob question. I just got my FD1 Civic and thinking of getting the mugen bodykit from JDMConcept.

I know its a 'clip on' type of kit but am I able to install this on myself? Do i need a professional to install this? I've been searching around the net to look for pictures of the kit to see if i can or not but no luck. Any info would be great.

Most people will say get a professional to install it but if you feel confident in doing it, i don't see why you can't.
It's a personal choice but i'd opt to get a professional to do it.

Yes, you can do it yourself. It should come with brackets which bolt the bottom of the lip to the chassis. You won't need to drill any holes for the bottom brackets but you will need to drill holes for the 2 screws on the sides. You will need a friend to help you install these lips though. Dw, just purchase it and any problems we'll help you out. I'm thinking of re-installing my side skirts because I did a bad job on the double side tape and its showing, so if you want I can do a little diy article for you sometime. IMO the side skirts are the most annoying to put on.

You won't need a professional .. its just screwing on some bolts, and after you finished you will be glad you didn't .. i actually asked around for prices for install .. dont remember the prices now but they were in the hundreds .. like $500+. Just set a day free and take your time.

if you are planning to get one from jdmconcept, then i would be assuming it is a genuine one. then it should be really easy to install since there is also should be instructions with the kit. just get another person to help you out (to hold the kit while you are screwing, drilling, etc) and you're set

i heard genuine mugen kits dont fit exactly on an fd1??? meh.. anyway, took me about 1.5hrs to fit my lip kit on with help of 2 other friends lol. my replica kit came with installation instructions along with the brackets and screws

it can be done yourself with help of friends.
i'm not sure about genuine because its like $575? wouldn't a genuine be $3000? or something stupid?
but anyway a lot of kits are just easy fit on. the front would be the easiest to fit i reckon cause it just hugs the front bumper and it doesn't actually move even if you don't use the brackets :p (but you should)
like everyone said all you need is just to drill holes on the side everything should fit

Rear lip and side skirts will fit but the front lip won't fit since 09 has a different shape front bumper. I havent seen any replica 09 mugen kits yet ..

nah~~ the 09 mugen front or modulo wont be my cup of tea...my other suggestion for you is....get the Type R front bumper from the same link i gave you =P and then your choice for Full conversion of Type R or mugen side and rear.

Fitted the 09 mugen kit wit evil_1998
was easy not hard most of it bolt on no glue needed.
drilled 4 holes altogether
2 on each side for the front lip
and thats about it

i dont think you will need to pay quarantine fees unless they slipped marijuana inside your spoiler lol....

yeah thats what i was thinking.. lol. so no other fees to pay here? i was told by the shipping company that i should expect to pay 200-250 aud once the kits arrive here.. and i'll be paying 200 usd for the kits to be shipped from phils to melbourne..

i was actually thinking of sharing the box, with another person who might be interested to source the kit from philippines but i reckon if 2 kits will be shipped here, it would exceed the 1k$ limit to be tax-free..

Too much i need to do inorder to put the kit on... so might consider selling it if anyone's interested? the front part of the RR is all wrapped still the rest has abit of dust, but still in pristine condition. And the kit is painted black already. BTW its the full conversion. So comes with everything.

Anyone interested? offer me a price. But depends i might keep it, and will let you know.
