Hey guys, currently in the market for a bike.. Budget really depends on the bike.

Heres what I'm pretty decided on not in order.

1. 2003 CBR600F4i

2. k2-k3 CBR954 Fireblade

3. K4-k6 GSX-R750

I actually went and looked at this CBR600F4i, The guy has been trying to sell it for months and months, he wants 8k, I offered him 7.5k cash but he didn't accept. http://www.bikesales.com.au/all-bikes/private/details.aspx?R=3103936&__Ntt=cbr600f4i&__Qpb=true&__Dx=mode%20matchany&__Ns=p_RankSort_Int32%7c1%7c%7cp_Make_String%7c0%7 c%7cp_Model_String%7c0%7c%7cp_YearMade_Int32%7c1%7 c%7cp_PriceSort_Decimal%7c1&keywords=cbr600f4i&__N=1432%20604%201428&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&seot=1&__Ntk=BikeAll&silo=1400&Cr=4&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__D=cbr600f4i&__sid=123A5C11241B

After riding it, maybe the 600 doesn't have enough grunt for me after all. And was a bit softish on the suspension side as well. My old Gixxer k1 750 was heap tighter.

Haven't ridden a 954 yet. But the nicer ones are going for around 8.5k-9.5k.

I have been offered a k6 GSX-R750 in mint condition for 9.5k, only 6300kms in black, with akrapovic shorty slip on, fender eliminator. Could possibly squeeze it down to 9k. It's in brissy though so I have to factor in re registering and transport, plus it needs a new set of tyres..

Isn't going to be a commuter or anything. Just a fun thing.

What do you guys reckon, any other bikes around those classes I should be looking at?

These bikes hold their value thats for sure...

Personally i'd go the 750 for extra grunt and because its a wanted K5/K6 model

The f4i is the cheapest out of the options and my original choice. I didn't really wanna have too much cash tied up in a toy, so I didn't want to over pay for an F4i, I'd rather get a k6 GSXR-750 on the cheap side, but in quality nick and pay more, if you know what I mean.

So far have a K6 GSXR750 with a brand new set of tyres fitted for 9k. But have to get it shipped down from townsville and re register it here. So its gunna be a cool 10k. You guys reckon I should spend the little bit extra (2.5-3k) on the gixxer?

GSXR for sure

For some strange reason, i've never thought much about Honda bike...

The 954 is kinda out of the equation now.

I've ridden a couple of F4i's. Haven't ridden the new gixxers but apparently there a bit more uncomfy then the older models..

The GSXR and CBRF4i are not a comparable bike. They are two totally different kettles of fish.

If you want a true sports bike with grunt and agressive riding position (but that crumbles into cheese if you happen to drop it) then go for the GSXR. If you want a sporty but comfortable bike that has 'medium' grunt (but won't fall apart!) then buy the Honda.

I've had both and I preferred the CBR but that was because I had back/neck issues that were aggrivated on the GSXR.

What bike are you upgrading from??

Thanks for that!! I haven't had a bike for a few years but my last bike was a k1 GSX-R750.

No worries. The 'new' gixxers just are not like the old ones....not quite as 'strong' but they do look better.

Maybe look at the CBR600rr if you want a sports. The F4i is a great bike but a bit 'dull' if you've had a bigger one.

Yeah. I have also been considering a k4 gixxer 750 as well. The K6+ do look more fragile thats for sure. The f4i's I have ridden have had enough power I reckon. Maybe just a bit less aggressive on the suspension/riding position side then the gixxers. Tough decision.

Well its either a k4 GSX-R750 or a k3 CBR600F4i. Price difference of about $1500 between the 2.
