Hey guys thinking of buying a 2nd car next year, already got an EG but keeping it for the tracks I guess.
I wanna get the Honda Integra DC2 (Type R) got a few questions to ask:
1) How much do you think I should spend on a stock one? Is anything over 16k a rip off? Will prices of these cars go down abit over the year?
2) What are they year models for it? I see there is My2000, what is that, is that special edition or something?
3) How easy is it to find a JDM front conversion? How much would it cost?
4) How fast do these things run on the quarter mile? Nothing much done to it maybe just a intake, compared to a EG with the same motor with same mod?
Thanks!

1) depends on the condition of the car you could expect to pay 14 - 20k for the car so take your time.
2) they were made in 98 - 01 i believe correct me if im wrong.
3) theres a couple for sale in the for sale section here front will cost you roughly 1.5k fitting and paint maybe another 1 - 2k depending where you go.
4) friend of mine ran a 14 flat with headers/exhaust and intake

depends on what condition vehicle you want, what you feel the car is worth, how much money you have. Cars will always depreciate year on year...
2) What are they year models for it? I see there is My2000, what is that, is that special edition or something?
The DC2 in australia ran from 1999 to 2001.... there is a special edition Model Year 2000 model with yellow seats and a few bits and peices.
3) How easy is it to find a JDM front conversion? How much would it cost?
they are regularly for sale around here these days, 1 in 4 have the conversion as i see it... if you are worried about the value of the car depreciating, i say dont do the conversion... some of our traders here will be able to help you out
4) How fast do these things run on the quarter mile? Nothing much done to it maybe just a intake, compared to a EG with the same motor with same mod?
this was answered in another thread just yesterday... my car has an intake an a light flywheel and ive done a 14.3... i know another member here has about the same and hes in the high 13's... this question is asked weekly, but never gets easier to answer... there are a lot of variables
Thanks!

Wouldn't EG be faster trackwise? Since lighter?

You could get them fairly cheap now adays, they might go down during the year but expect to find some with high km's
2) What are they year models for it? I see there is My2000, what is that, is that special edition or something?
Spec 96, Spec 98 and Spec 2000 .
pretty sure thats the standard editions.
Not much diffrence, but the 96 a pre-facelifted, 98+ all facelifted
correct me if im wrong.
3) How easy is it to find a JDM front conversion? How much would it cost?
You could buy some with JDM front conversions but finding a original is pretty rare. JDM fronts could cost between 1.5k to 3k Ranging on paint job, parts and welding.
4) How fast do these things run on the quarter mile? Nothing much done to it maybe just a intake, compared to a EG with the same motor with same mod?
IN Quater Mile, a EG would be fast cause of the lighter wieght compared to a dc2r.

In straightline, IMO yes it would,
but in cornoring, No! due to suspension, stiffer chasis, front strut bar + more.
i reakon the price you would be paying decent one is at least 17k, that from my experience has i recently bought a dc2r took me about over 3 months.
Hope that helps
