How do expect any reasonable responses when there are so many factors (eg. postcode/state/age/inclusions) when seeking any insurance, be it motor vehicle, home and contents etc etc?

Maybe if you state which insurer gave you the best quote someone might be able to give a comparison.

(Anyway for what it's worth my MY10 Lux Auto with ~$6K accessories cost $680 with NRMA)

Full comp with 14-day (might only be 7day) hire car and free windscreen replacement. These are joys of not living in Sydney and being a bit of older fart. Mine was packaged with home insurance etc (lucky my wife is in the finance industry and did a of wheeling on the price).

AAMI gives good price, but their smash repairer are crap. I need to bring my FD2 (hit by a guy with AAMI insurance, so they asked me to bring my car to AAMI smash repair) back to 3 diff AAMI repairer just to fix the bumper.

1st: they just glue the bumper to the body
2nd: the clip that connect the bumper and the body snap after 1 week
3rd: colour code are different...

AAMI :thumbdwn: my current preferred smash repair said, NRMA even better than AAMI

Ouch!!! Man you got to move to the Sunshine State to get the good rates. I have a pretty good driving record too so that might have some weight! I don't know how much they take that in to consideration?

You tried going to YouI insurance?

Budget direct are cost effective. Have read policy documents and seems good. Not sure of their credit rating but cost for new euro lux 2009 agreed value $39200 with $500 excess and no claim bonus protector, hire car, max no claim bonus paid annually was $777.

Presented quote to Honda Insurance and they came down to about $950 from $1200 with same extras but genuine parts and 3 year replacement car. Went with them for that price. (i'm 34)
