Hello there,

I am quite interested in these civics

i was wondering a few questions people can pm me the answer if they like

but

What parts/car do you use to go 5stud??
what parts/car do you use for rear discs instead of drums

In performance terms what would be the best big brake upgrade for the chassi is it JDM DC5R brembos or something else?

cheers,

dc2r brake setup is a very common upgrade done to civics, just look up the parts that you will need for it, as its been covered a few times here.

well if ur going to drums to disks, just get some ek4 ones.

if you have an ek4 they are disc brake rear from factory.

could also use ek9 setup to change it to 5 stud.

Oh so its the EK9 for 5stud?

would DC5R brembos fit on? or not worth it?

dc2r and ek9 are 5 studs, I think from memory to run dc5r brembo's u might need custom brake bracket and bigger rotors.

so then DC2R would be the best suited then?

Yep dc2r/ek9 with nice decent rotors and pads will be good enough for stopping.
If you want bling you can add spoon calipers.

DC2R/EK9 would be best cause it's just to bolt on.

If ya after aftermarket rear discs, the 98-02 accord v6 share the same rear rotors as the integra type r rear rotors

282mm front
262mm rear

with reguards to the drum to disc, would it matter if it was the civic was equiptd with abs system or not? not sure, but wouldnt this mean u would need a disc brake that came with a abs sensor on it 2?

wouldnt it be better to remove ABS system?

teh reason why i am asking is because i am thinking of doing a EK civic build for track :)

I thought that a car that came with abs standard has to have abs if the brakes are upgraded. Maybe use the brakes off an em1?

tru..

wouldnt it be eeasier to use blocking off nuts or something for the input abs?

or change the mastre brake cylinder to non abs

sounds like you're a bit newb to be building a 'tack car'.

if you have an 'EK4' (Civic VTiR) then you allready have rear disk brakes and the fronts are the same as 'EM1' (Civic VTi R coupe) so no point changing anything there.

Technically if you wish to keep your 'tack car' road-registered, it's illegal to remove/disable ABS.

IMO (ensuring pads are all in good condition etc) you should go to the track first and see how the stock brakes meet your needs - becasue it's an expensive exercise to do the brake upgrades you're talking about and you might not even need em.

It's illegal to have a faulty ABS system as far as passing rego is concerned. If you remove the system entirely, there is no legal issue.

or just get an ek1, and build that up as they dont have abs
