and the entire wiring system....both under dash and all sensors required etc.
not a cheap task. Why bother?

hrmm i dont think so... ive been looking at the manual and it looks a bit easier then that... the srs system looks to run separate to the ecu

As you can see it runs straight off the battery, through two under bonnet fuses which i recon would already be in there and then through two under dash fuses...
if im reading this correctly then i should only need the steering wheel and the small loom that goes back to the underbonnet fuse box. correct?

legally I can see you needing a nice engineers report to go with it
you're effectively tampering with the safety system, I'd at least give main roads in your area a call first before going into work

Im not sure... i thought there were supposed to be sensors all around the car too but the manual doesn't mention it at all

question is, why go to all the trouble and cost?

giving the car to my girlfriend and she demands airbags... sigh* you know how women are

yeah but if it's not done right it may well be more dangerous than not having one at all.
Anyway, yes you will need the sensors as well as they signal an impact to the control unit which sets it off. i'm sure ECU-MAN will know more ;)

lol dont correct me when you have no real idea :)
You need sensors too. And engineering. Etc.
It would be expensive , and more worthwhile to sell the car and buy a vti or later with a drivers side airbag.
Thats just IMO !

I'd be very keen to see a diy on this topic, way to go if you pull it off

ever thought about selling the car and just buying a vti. hassle i know. but you get added features like cup holders (girls love this) , sunroof ( girls love this), rear disc brakes (girls love this), vtec (girls love this).
just adding food for thought.
