deibel level of exhauts system

Hi guys
just wondering what is the way that exhaust shops test your exhauts sytem for the decibel reading, is it at the back of the car on 45degree angel with nothing behind and rev the car to half way of redline or is it different??, because i got a test done on my car and i dont believe it is correct just think he trying to rip me off. does anyone know the proper way of how they test your exhaust system

i went to hitech mufflers

its usually listed on the RTA web sites

i think its done 50cm away on a 45* angle and rev at 3500/4500 rpm cant remember which rpm

You will fail the test...
Change ur exhaust over and save yourself a $40 dollar test the first time..
I got done with my daily (laser), i thought bullshit...
4 inch cannon, 4800 RPM said other wise lol...
104 at rev
115 at the blow off

Failed so hard...
90DB is legal limit for cars afta 1980 sumfin lol

Having a certificate is going to do squat, if a cop wants to defect you they'll just defect you.

They can just say that you need to get emissions tested and you'll be done for.

hey mate i know a guy that will do it for you properley he does all the db testing at eastern creek.

unless it was done by a certified engineer, its not gonna mean crap.
Even then they can still tell you that they want it checked again cos they will say they think you changed the muffler or soemthing.
