I've decided to go fully synthetic for my next service.

I've been using Honda 10w30 SL for a while and since in do a lot of stop start/short distance driving (my workplace is 3 kays from home and i pick up my missus from the city during gridlock) after 5000km (when i do my services) the oil is pretty sludgy.

What do u guys recommend? I've got my eye on Mobil 1 10w50, but at 75 bucks its a little exxy. I've also been told that Castrol Sport 5w30 is too thin.

If you search the forums for "engine oil", you will find a lot of information.

I've run the Castrol Edge for the last 2 oil changes in my (JDM B16) EG.. seems to rev a lot easier now however I wouldnt use this oil for a daily driver !! I was paranoid about it being too thin especially on a 15 year old (original internals) motor etc. however it doesnt seem to be using (burning) any oil etc. and valvetrain noise etc is acceptable.

I'd like to try the motul next but not sure where to by it ?

Thanks for the posts guys, I bought some Nulon 10w40 fully-synth at Supercheap as I live ages away from Autobarn. Maybe next time i'll get the Motul.

I'll post my review of the Nulon after 5000 kms which will probably be sometime in March.

BTW Aaronng thanx, I tried searching before i posted, but couldnt find any good threads, the 'Engine oil' search didnt find me much info unfortunately..

You need to set the search to "search titles only".
On the first page of my search results:
