Here it is:
http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=866814

I have heard they are releasing a Hybrid Jazz sometime during 2010, so looks like they might use the motor designed for the CR-Z for the Jazz.

It's going to be exciting seeing Honda step up their game in Hybrid cars. I guess the FCX clarity is just a little too advanced for today and not everyone is ready for it. (ie Infrastructure)

Specs:
Engine: 1.5L i-VTEC + IMA
Transmission: 6MT or CVT
Power (Petrol): 84KW@6000RPM
Torque (Petrol): 145 NM@4800RPM
Power (IMA): 10KW@1500RPM
Torque (IMA): 78 NM@1000RPM
0-100km/hr (0-62mph): 9.7 sec

As far as I'm aware, this is the first Hybrid to come with a manual transmission.

It's a Hybrid! It's not meant to be fast.

I don't see any other manufacturers with anything similar, looks wise for a Hybrid. So this will change the game for all players.

what's the point when they have FN2R?

K20 + hybrid isn't exactly fuel saving is it?

Honda never go with big kw anyway :)
The electric motor means to give instant torque. It is worthwhile to see the torque graph.

In the article it says 0-100km in 9.7 secs. For 1.5 lt engine, that's a very respectable figure.

It's 1.5L + electric motor.

Doesn't a manual EJ8 like yours do a similar time?

They also command a high price premium over their petrol versions.

Honda is playing the game smarter. Making hybrids more affordable for everyone. Case in point...the Insight has been delayed for release in Australia due to overwhelming demand overseas.

it doesnt matter how slow that thing is, it looks amazing, as a daily car this would be excellent, and its not like you need extra power during peak hour as you go to work

I'm with you on that newpaddy3.

I have a 1.5L Jazz and I find it adequate for commuting. It's also a great car on the open road, especially with the CVT. Have taken it to Melbourne twice.

The 1.5L motor with IMA would be ever better. The torque curve would be excellent for improving bottom end urge and also fuel economy.

Hope Honda can bring it to Australia by the end of 2010. Same with the Insight..

I don't reckon you would have much change left from $50k,

I guess you can say to yourself ''at least Im helping the environment" whilst a D16y civic passes you.

I cant deny that its a great looking car.
