hey guys, i know a new gearbox will always beat a recod gearbox, but i was wondering are the recos far behind new ones? are recos considored well as far as quality and duration of life goes?

i have my gearbox booked in for a reco (syncros and bearings) and just wondering if theres anyone who has any oppinions on the matter.

if ur talkign bout a reco box with all new sychoros/gears/bearings then i dont seee why but but if ur talking bout a reco box that only has the problem gears changed then new one is better of course

Do it yourself? Buy new thrust bearings, mainshaft and counter, and all associted bearings, check other parts for wear/tolerances if its within spec no need to buy new stuff. They are not as scary as first thought.
