so performance wise been having an argument with someone about this. an f20c vs 2jzGE (or some crap the non turbo version of a supra lol) Their both n/a power. As most people know the f20c is a 2l engine and some might not know the supra engine is a 3l. The power outage is roughly 240hp on the f20c and 220hp on the 2jz. All i know is the 2jz has 80 odd nm more torque then the f20c. Weight is a huge difference and i know supra's are more top end and stretch their legs over 100km/h.. This is just a friendly argument between the two of us and want to see what others have to say.

If your going to flame gtfo thx.

S2K everyday of the week. A N/A supra can't bust a 15sec quarter. There's your argument.

I've been told theres been a few imports hitting a few high 14's? what about 0-100 times? i dont belive anything on the internet. I remember when i was looking at s2000 specs and came across a few 6.9s right through to 7.7's 0-100 lol..

and regarding work to the n/a engines.. i know its hard to pull figures in s2k or any na car.. but regarding the 2jz-GE keeping it n/a could bigger figures be pulled easilly? I've seen a few na s15's pulling 150-160rwkw.. whats an s2k pull rwkw stock?

s2000 stock is a mid 14s car down the qtr.
THe supra without turbo is a slug in the 15s mark

n/a s15 pulling 150-160kw? lolwut they do like hi 15's the autech version
some turbo ones i seen even do low 15's at wsid..

with N/A surpras, there will be some that will pull nice times as my mate had one but it was completely rebuilt did 14.1 or so

hmmm it's all bout power:weight ratio.
This is where most 'v8 or v6' drivers fail.
take a light weight EG civic, and place a 115KW ATW engine in.
Now on paper it looks that a 200kw PLUS v8 would beat the civic.
but the Power:weight ratio comes into play and in 'real life' the Civic should pull away.

i have seen this many times before.
JDM B16A EG pulls up beside a SS.
SS laughs and takes off from lights
Little EG flys past FTW

Hope this helps.

im speaking of worked autechs lol. and i know the power to weight law would be in place although, what would a moded 2JZ-GE pull? is power gains possible or very hard to have any gains? if only i still had my S :(

The S2000 should be quicker...2 guys in my close group of friends use to have N/A Supras due to Victoria's P-Plate restriction (One of which just got off his P's and straight away made the switch to the TT last w/e).

I have a DC5R and we've test driven each others cars, etc...Without trying to sound like a Honda fanboy, they both agreed that my DC5R is faster, so i'm quite sure the s2k would be quicker. The funny thing is they were one of those people who dont like Hondas and thinks Honda=Rice...lol. In short, after doing our own research, we've all come to respect each others cars...

So here's the conclusion; Supras push out lots of torque/power but in real terms both they are very heavy cars when compared to our lighter hondas. So basically as mentioned above, power to weight ratio plays a big role. Also, you should consider the age of the supras; especially the pre facelift models (older than '96/'97) same with any other cars they tend to lose power from aging. The supras are good cars tho (especially the TT...they're a whole different story) plus i like the interior, as expected from a car that use to cost over 100k brand new back then...So there you go.

From my experience the V8 tends to pull away at the end due to the torque available in higher gears, once the little engine starts to lose acceleration but you're very right - there's a lot to be said for lower weight :)

Your spot on the V8 would crush the lil Civic after 100km. But then he'd be speeding and then pulled over by the cops which equals Commonwhore owned once again.

Hope this has helped

haha. what about the n/a supra's that have VVT-I? i know i should probably jump on a toyota forum about this but their dead as f*ck lol.. and realistically a supra would have more potential.. looking the the big 2jzGTE's lol..

How so? swapping an NA 2JZ into an s2k wouldnt be too bad.. 220hp 300nm of torque i think it wouldnt be too bad lol.. although it would be pretty lame lol.

lol...why would you want to replace a better engine, newer, better built, more expensive engine with an older, larger, fuel hungry N/A engine that actually has less power with 1 extra litre of "Fuel efficiency" = 3L; just to get extra torque. Only if its the TT engine...is it even possible to fit it into the engine bay of an s2k...

refer to link . ^^. been done quite often
the 2jz-gte is a beautiful engine. One of the strongest stock engines, capable of up to 700hp with standard internals.
When dropped into a light S2000 = Very Awesome power to weight ratio. Compared to the heavy chassis of the MKIV Supra.
