Am I right to say that all eg civic hatches were released with black middle and corner grills? Does this mean that any eg civic seen with body coloured corner grills have probably had body damage and a dodgy respray?

why would it be dodgy?

i beleive it means its been resprayed and that they hadn't covered up that part and painted it.

Depends on the year. Later models had the fog light grills painted from the factory.
