noob question here, but does the upper shock mount on a DC2 vti-r differ from that of a DC2R?

i presume you are talking about engine mounts?

If so, what is the upper mount? there is a rear mount which is near the firewall, then the passenger side and driver side mount, and 2 torque mounts down the bottom...

u mad?

If your are talking about the upper strut 'top hat', then yes and no.

Yes, the metal part of the top hat itself is the same.

No, the rubber bushing that sits inside it is not. The one from the DC2R is much stiffer and consquently better.

I run DC2R Springs, DC2R top hats/bushes and KYB Excel-G dampers all round on my DC2 VTi-R

dinorider: thanks for the info =)

i currently run pillow ball mounts and they are a lil harsh for the roads i live on so i want to change them to OEM rubber top hats. reason i ask is becos i want to kno wld it be better to use my old top hats from the old sussy or get new type r top hats.

guys

the difference between DC2 and DC2R upper mounts is this.

The DC2 has soft rubber bushes and a metal washer either side and a nut ontop , to keep the spring and shock captive and relative to each other.

The DC2R , does not have soft rubber but hard almost plastic bushes in place. plus no upper washer just hte nut to hold it in place
