Hey guys,

Is it possible for any damage to be caused to the CAMS or valve springs by a blown motor with the following description.... "Head is blown and one piston is farked" ??

I know... but the new owner is looking to sell the parts mentioned and I’m keen.

Though not being very mechanically minded, am not sure of the "potential" risks.

By the sounds of things of a piston "farked" sounds like it would have a cracked ring land which can also do damage to the bore meaning the bottom end is pretty much useless. Repairing the bottom end would consist of boreing out the cylinders to a larger size and running larger pistons (thats if its only slightly damaged).

For the head really depends on how the head gasket is blown, if there was large amounts of water through motor rust might be a issue. If the timing belt has snapped also might have bent valves. So many possibilities with buying stuff that is blown if you don't know the full history and reasons.. anyways im prob just rambling off crap now.. time for a beer..
