wondering if its possible to have my stock exhaust sit higher? reason is cause my cars lowered alot, and some speed bumps scrape the crap out of my exhaust.

everywhere, like going over a hump, i can hear it scraping all the way down to the tip, grinding the pipe

but i haven't gone under the car to actually see yet, so thats what im assuming

Only way is prob just get a aftermarket exhaust system and tell them you want it high and close to the body as possible. Factory exhaust systems sit fairly close already to the body.

Other then that it might be possible that your exhaust is sitting lower from broken rubber mounts that hold up the exhaust system causing it to stretch the other mounts..

u can get short exhaust mounts, cusco makes them and probably some other brands out there

yup, get shorter exhaust hangers

be aware that if they are too short you'll get the exhaust thumping on the body instead of the ground when you go over bumps and/or when turning and on takeoff. you'll need to experiment on which hangers to replace with the short ones - some combination of short/stock hangers will probably work well.

if this doesn't work because your car is way too low (WHY did you do this to your suspension??) the proper way to fix it is to get a custom system and tell them to put it close up to the body :)

or just raise your damn car! ;)

and dont forget the heat generated from the exhaust as well.

i angle it as much as i can.

i can go over a majority of speed humps, just some trouble on a few that are too high.

are those hangers expensive?

should only be a couple of bucks for one - it's just a piece of rubber

in fact you might be able to get them for even cheaper at a wrecker, i bet they have boxes full of them. just take one of your stock hangers with you so you can compare sizes, and pick up a couple of different sizes and take them home and experiment away

RM003B's aren't dear & your exhaust will definitely benifit from these in your situation.

drive the rear of the car up ramps (or on stands if it's too low to get up ramps), secure and take a look under it mate - best way to know for sure before you buy anything

it really depends on the car. one of our cars uses hangers all the way back from the cat to the tip. the Civic EG if i remember correctly used hangers for the rear muffler, but it had some sort of metal plate/bolt mounting point for the mid-section.

yeh I got this problem too... does ur hanger get pulled off sometimes because the body scrapes the ground? check to see if ur cars like mine and the actual metal hangar on the car is scraped. If it is then you'll scrape no matter what u do to your exhaust. CBF so I just raised it.
