hey guys, i'm really sorry if this has been covered, but i couldnt find it.....so dont flame me, just show me the light...

i was wondering what the outcome would be if you installed a b18c itr crank into a b20 and then built it with vtec head.....

would it have any effect on displacement???

thanks in advance...........

Umm you would have 1.9 Litre so yes it would affect your displacement. the B20 crank is 89mm vs the 87mm ITR crank.
Why dont you just micropolish and balance the b20 crankshaft, sure it wont be lighter but the extra displacement will make up for it

thanks man, i wasnt sure if it would loose displacement or not.............

its not about the weight or power..............it was a general question

thanks again

87.2mm crank vs 89mm crank = 2% loss of capacity. With an 84mm bore this means a touch under 40cc is gone. 81mm vs 84mm bore = 7.5% gain in capacity.

A smaller crank (87.2) will displace less volume than a larger one (89).

yes yes, but which size crank is b20, and which is itr b18c???

why dont u use a b20 crank in a b18c block..b18c block is safer then a b20

or get a 2lt stroker kit in a b18c

or get a 2lt stroker kit in a b18c

not everyone can afford a striker kit lan.. plus a b20block is fukin cheap as shit compared to a stroker kit

B18C sleeved and bored out to 1.9L pretty much a nice displacement to be at with pauters and cp's if $$$ avail.

Why dont you sleeve a B20 then go for 86mm sleeves. 2.2 Litre displacement. waste of money sleeving the B18C just for 1.9L.... remember guys there is no replacement for displacement

for me it aint all about displacement....................

more revs and response.......................displacement means torque and less revs.......... ;)

more than likely i will end up using a sleeved b18c block from the US..............

and build /assemble the rest of it here............

thanks guys........

ummmm.. just cause it jumped a few cc doesnt mean its 6 litre engine that revs only to 5,000rpm....... if you want a motor that revs build a B16 then....more torque means you will be getting power earlier in the revs...mated with a good cam, and you can be making power all the way to 9,000rpm...

btw is this for a turbo or n/a build

more than likely it will be buolt for boosted application, however NA to start with
