Receiver Dryer/Aircon Filter

hey just wondering what difference is between a receiver dryer and an aircon filter? All these mechanics are tossing these terms up. Some say they need to be replaced to make sure that a previously seized air con system works right when a new compressor is installed....but i'm not too sure whether they're the same thing or two totally different things.

pretty sure they're the same thing
the receiver dryer holds all the crud that's in the system
cheap to replace <$40

changed mine recently when i reinstalled aircon and that's all i had to do
