Hey guys,

I'm not sure whats wrong with my car, and I have no electrical knowledge (but am crafty), so I'd prefer to get an idea before I go fiddling around.

Basially, when my head lights are ON, my rear tail lights go to their brightest setting, like you are breaking all the time. However, the top light on the hatch operates normally.

When the lights are off, it's all over the place.. sometimes one taillight works, sometimes both do. But they are NOT 'always on' when driving along with the lights off, but they do work fine when breaking etc.

Is this a symptom of a common problem with Tegs, or somethings buggered with the wiring?

I hope I've described exactly what they are doing ok, haha.

sounds like one of your rear tail light globes is burnt out, sometimes the two arms holding the fillament in the globe can touch causing this sort of werd behavoir, or you got a globe in the wrong way round. tray replacing all your rear brake lamp globes and see if that fixes it

you can't actually put the bulb in the wrong way unless it's a LED.

your not ment to be able to put the dual fillament brake light globe in back to front as the have stagered pins, but people still manage to do it by forcing in the globe.
