hey guys
just need an opinion on this
my car is nearly up to 100000k's
which means a major service
but the thing is
i will be leaving for hk in a week's time
i shall be gone 4 a month
so...
should i service the car now?
or service after i come back?

whats the point in a service now when you can do i when you come back and have it done later?

alternatively, you will not have to worry about it if you do it now and when you come back it will be done.

I would just do it after.... no point getting it serviced and then let your car sit there.. unless someone else is going to be driving it. Petrol does go off too so dont fill up a full tank before you leave but one month should be ok.

Tough question... depends on how rich you are. I service my Civic a lot more regularly than I need - so from my perspective, I'd do it before I left so that it was ready to go when I got back - then maybe do a minor service when I got back. But if you pay someone else to do it for you - I can see why it could be a huge financial burden.

yea...
the problem is i use my car ALOT
i reckon i will clock up another 500 k's before i leave
plus i went down the tracks before

but if i get one done now
i dont wanna do it again when i come back...

Do it when ya back. More money to spend like what SPEEDCORE mentioned. 500Ks shouldnt be really bad for the engine. I've seen Civics in Perth go with servicing for over 20,000Ks and the owners dont even give a shit! heeh

Before going, just ask someone to start the car up once a week or so. If noone is there to help, remove the battery terminal. But if you have V-AFC I, you might need to butt tune the AFC again when ya back.

Do the service after you come back.
