handbrake - tighten

as above, do I remove the center console to adjust handbrake? it is too loose and I am relying on 1st/reverse to hold me.. 94 accord.

Yep.. remove the console. slide seat forwards, 2 screws near the seat belt socket. 2 screws on the side where the console meats the shift stick area. Should be 4 screws altogether , all on the side, 2 left 2 right.

If you have the right tool, you can adjust the nut through the cigarette ash tray at the back of the console ( passenger one) by removing it.

Definately do not rely on 1st/reverse to hold you. if you receive a bump from a shitty driver.. and pushes your car.. then your gear is goner ffff itself?
