or pay 600 to get the jaycar equivalent..
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA0458&keywords=precision+response&form=KEYWORD
Obiously I'd like to save the 400, having a 4+1 amp saves the need for a 4ch and a mono and I'm willing to sacrafice quality for convenience..
Need to power 2x 50rms and 2x 75rms, 1x 250rms
emailed the seller and: 'Sorry but I dont have the RMS figures with the info provided with the amp'
my guess at 1000w peak she ain't gonna provide me with what I need..
save up for the jaycar right?

go the manufacturers websites here in australia and have a look at who there dealers are which are close to you then go visit. thats what people did before the misleadings of the internet...

Only until I have enough cars in the wild and states with appropriately tooled sound boards :)
I try to operate in person when people are in the correct state but thus far I've been dishing out sufficient sonic bliss so I'm happy with my progress.

Not everything on the internet is misleading! I operate on the internet and I don't mislead! I help people achieve sonic bliss! :D
BUT most of the time when you help, you always refer or link them to your PRODUCT only, you don't really help them to choose from other Brand thats available ..........
I dont think you really help there ..........
Coz its so many good brand on the market such as RAINBOW / DYNAUDIO / FOCAL / SIMPHONY / JL Audio ...... etc ........

What Laski is saying Joey is you have to be unbias in your recommendations, people tend to respect people more when one tends not to be bias towards one thing.

Was about to buy a 5 channel then realised.. It has 3 RCAs on it, one for sub, one for front, one for rear. Head deck has only one set.
Do they make 1 --> 3 adaptors? My feling is that it will kill the sound quality..
Better off refunding head unit and buying a 2rca? Then buy a 4ch and mono...
thanks

28-12-2009, 09:22 PM
if running a 5 ch amp, most people would run active 2 way front plus sub. there is enough power in the deck to run rear speakers.
if feeling rich, i have a JL 500/5 never powered, but only if feeling rich...

buy RCA splitters mate. 1 female to 2 male.
Buy a bunch the rest is just common sense, ignore the other comments lol.
Icacha just has to start some kind of argument.. or disagree with someone .. its in his nature to not know how to stick to a topic :)
Joe hasnt done anything wrong advertising his own stuff, recommending other stuff would be like saying my products are shit but go for this stuff..
thats not a unbias thing its just stupidity.
Trust is upto them, when u walk into woolworths or coles, u dont eat everything then pay do u , u buy it then eat. Just like any shop unfortunately u gota trust before u cna buy.
In my opinion to gain trust .. is to offer something cheap, not the best but good value for money. People will buy the cheapest thing.. to test u out well most of the people i know do anyway.
Some people choose just to not trust.. i guess.. ANYWAYYYYYYY
i dont wanna start another argument but.. can i just say.. This guy asked a question can we just answer it.. and not go off topic

Really sounds simple enough, what would be the effect on sound quality (obviously I don't mind if it isn't optimal since its a real budget piece of work but naturally I don't want interferance coming through..)
and slimx I agree with you, thanks for the reply

sound quality is the same you just cant control the balance and fade etc from the deck has to be adjusted from the amp which you should be doing anyway. If your in sydney you can come listen to mine i got rca splitters on it no diff

Sounds good my worry is that from a 1RCA I would need 4 Spliiter which is rather stupid but the only way to do it.. right?
L is White out, R is red out, X is the dual out to go to each channel..

Think about it! Splitting the signal like you have done WILL affect the sound quality, with the available volume dropping as it is 'split' between however many Y-connections you make. So you will need to drive your headunit/amp even harder to get a similar sound level, increasing heat and possible overload.
http://www.aerpro.com.au/product_pics/MX1F2M.jpg
This is what we are referring to. I would only split once.

you talking about audio or video?
splitting video will create picture loss but not audio. split as many times as you want.
oooooooor the OP can just invest in a new head unit which has f, r & s outputs

didnt say u talk shit lol. i said u just dont stick to topics. dont get so defensive, relax.
and as for splittting yeh they SAY U LOSE signal to noise ratio or whatever... but ive done it many times.. seen it around in many cars.. u cant even tell the difference. If your scared your gona lose quality theres lil contraptions you can buy, like an amplifier, but only for RCA, im not sure what the name is but it'll split it up and 100% wont lose quality.
i reckon u should just split it up as i said earlier. since rca splitters are like $3-4 each then if u think uve lost quality then probly invest in some sort of rca splitting/amping contraption thing-o

no point arguing... thanks for the advice all..
anyway, before I go on let me say that this is what I have and don't really care for what I should have because I'm only working with whats available..
I have an alpine deck (1 RCA as you know), reponse front speakers 50RMS, response rears 75RMS, and a 4 channel response amp 4x100RMS. I decided against the 5 channel because of the ambiguity in its effectiveness..
So, obviously I run the 4 speakers off the 4 channels, but the final piece in my system may (not yet decided) be a sub.
So my question is, would it be more effective for overall SQ and loudness to just use the 4 speakers on the amp as you would, or should I run the fronts off the amp to give them the power I need, run the rears off the head deck, and bridge the other 2 channels to run a sub (will provide ~250-300RMS bridged).
No I'm not gonna buy a mono and split it again, just working with what I have...
So pretty much.. 4 speakers powered properly vs fronts powered propper, rears underpowered, and sub at say 75% power..
Thanks for your help!!

last question...
should I replace the existing speaker wire in the front door speakers with thicker speaker wire?
or leave it as is and solder+insulate it with new speaker wire from the head unit to the amp in the boot.
only because it will be a hassle to run new wire from the door, through that little rubber shoot, and behind the head unit..
cheers

30-12-2009, 04:03 PM
run new wires and keep the old ones there so if u decide to sell the car u can pull the amp and speakers out and reconnect the oem speakers back to the deck
slimx
30-12-2009, 05:48 PM
my recommendation would be if u can, run your amp wiring to the back of the deck, and just connect your speakers from there, thats what im gona be doing soon when i get some time.
In my opinion its much cleaner, and you dont even need to open up the speaker.
