so apparently my h&r cup kit was made for an ek but it seems the rear forks were made to be used on a dc/eg(wider fork, washers were needed to fit ek)

now i've spaced it enough and used my stock bolt but it seems to *just* be enough to hold it in place i.e. the bolt screws to the end of the welded nut on the shock so only the pointy tip of the bolt stick out at the end

now it appears to have been fine for the last 2 weeks, re-torqued it up the other day and it seems to be holding

my question is, should i replace it with a longer bolt? will one from an eg/dc do? or have people who've done this before just run the stock ek bolt without issues?

i suppose idealy i'd want it to stick out the same amount as the stock bolt should(10-12mm)

Ive got a eg bolt here that you can use to compare the length and do testing with if u cant get an answer lol

vin just get a couple of subframe-LCA connecting bolts. These are considerably longer and will suit.

vinny nuts and bolts place in Smithfield, up the road from Toda.
They got all types and will make a custom if you want it

Just make sure that the washers used to space up the difference are high tensile steel ones too.... soft washers will compress in time to come.

yeah finding a replacement bolt isn't a problem.. just wasn't sure whether i needed one or not
guess i'll just dig up one of my old subframe bolts which the asr replaced

and with the washers.. pretty sure they were high tensile steel ones, using the same ones on my rear brake caliper bracket without any trouble :) good thing is they're pretty much spot on with the thickness(within 0.2mm)

edit; hmm negatory.. i just measured my current shock bolt and my old subframe bolts and they both appear to be 90mm in length.. an extra 5mm would settle my mind though

I'll go with what Ben said - Easiest and cheapest..

but with current one, if the nut can be threaded 8 to 10 rounds, it should be fine.

i checked mine last night leo.. the subframe-lca bolts are no longer :(

the current bolt is barely long enough to make it to the end of the shock fork i.e. the tapered head on the particular bolt is protruding out of the welded nut and nothing more
on a regular setup you'd see about 5-10mm sticking out of the welded nut

might just have to go find a flanged m10x100mm bolt from somewhere

Then just go to a fastener shop with the sample bolt, and tell them you want a longer want, either that, get EG bolts.

yeah finding 100mm bolts shouldn't be hard, i'll see if any mates have an eg one lying around first
