I think EG Si's came with the D16A8 which is a similar engine to ZC. Probably similar to a D16Y1 in the VTi in terms of outright straight line performance.

better torque curve because of the extra OHC..

Assuming that he's talking about the twin cam ZC.

They're good motors, with bolt on mods like headers and intake, you can keep up with an ef8

mines still going strong, done track days and 1/4 miles with them and still no problems

CR-X DOHC ZC are OBD0. If your ZC EG is an import then it'll have the OBD1 ZC (which is a tad better than the CR-X because there's more tuning support for the OBD1)

Talk to Yonas about ZC motors.

He ran a 14.7 with one once upon a time.

What work? I'm getting ready to start my ZC build. Do you have a build thread? Wouldn't mind seeing what you've done.

on crx aus go talk to my mate Chris (CRXMUSCLE) he is the one with the B18c crx and MattLewis he was behind us wen we wer racing .. qld crx owners that no my car will tell u everythin im tellin u ..

I was just interested in what work you'd put into the motor to get it producing somewhere near a B18c's output. I wasn't really looking for proof of you keeping up with a b18.

Have you had it dyno'd? Done the 1/4? What do you think of the HKS cams?

sorry man i just get little tight on that area tho cause so many ppl didnt beleive me till they saw it ..

i waited 6 months from my mate that works at HKS to get them in for me ..
there awsome the ratio on them are nice and smooth and has a sort of changeover effect to it ...wen ever we are on another meet and ur there i will take u for a spin ..

i want to get it dyno'd and down the strip before i put the B16/18c conversion in early next year . ..

i am givin it another rebuild wen its out prob find some other cheap parts like upgrade fuel rail .. either slam a bolt on turbo kit and sell it or sell it with out the kit .. but its a nice smooth runnin D16a8 ..:)

Cool,

A good cam can really transform an engine.

ZC is just a JDM D16A8 DOHC non-VTEC.

I think it's better than the D16Y1 (which I run in my EH) because you have the extra OHC which gives the engine a better torque curve and makes it much more/better responsive to mods than the SOHC :)

Nice engine - spoon accord can even keep up with our EF8s and he's just running I/H/E atm :D

Yeah I have a spare D16A8 in my back yard and I have the D16Y1 in my EH...wondering if I should just swap them for the hell of it...
