Hi guys my wife's 05 AUTO Jazz had a battery failure the RACQ replaced the battery,he used a 9 volt stay alive thingo to halt memory failure but now i can not reset the clock it just keeps flashing tried all the handbook directions with no luck. all the other radio and CD functions work fine.
The other thing is the green Air Con on light has stopped coming on it seems to work intermitently, the function of the Air Con Is fine switches on and off as normal just the light is not working, i thought it might be the bulb but as it comes on every now and then i dont think thats it.
Any tips wowld be nice.

hi,
Sorry re problems. I am 35 year electronics experienced tech not cars so thats my angle. (9v stay alive might workmost cars but from electronics viewpoint i am cringing!)
Electronics can be fickle. i personally suggest remove clock power fuse, wait 5 minutes then replug it in. ie so a power reset of the clock is performed. Not really knowing your car then might be wait for others to comment but from electronics point of view try a power off/wait/power on cycle to see if this clears it.
Electronics dont like in between voltages much and very strange things can sometimes happen.
ps if clock and radio on same fuse make sure you can reset radio with security code or however yor car is setup,
mine is jazz 2003 vti jap made and has no radio codes as i can see.
re a/c cond light, sounds just like coincidence to me.
(as a reader of Terry Pratchett stories) You know that a million to one chance happens nine times out of ten! Aint that the truth!

Hi Thanks for the advise tried the remove fuse and wait no joy.
As soon a you turn the key on the clock starts flashing none of the reset functions seem to work.
Looks like i may have to take it to the dealer [ouch!] as the car is out of warranty .
I will be asking them if the 9 volt stay alive may be to blame
Cheers
