hi all... does anyone installed strut brace on their euro??
i am looking for strut brace for my euro... both front & back,
& lower arm bar as well...
does anyone have any good suggestion??? cusco???
and where i can get them from??? and price please???
i am in sydney btw....
Nothing I know of locally - try Comptech in the USA (look at TSX) or try to source the stock strut from the TSX or Euro R
THe only question is whether the TSX/Euro R strut bars will fit. It probably will but no guarantees until you try to fit it.
Also query whether you will see much improvement. According to Honda the stock chassis is already more rigid than a 3 series BMW.
I have a Comptech Titanium Strut Brace sitting downstairs in the garage that a friend brought back from the USA for me.

Not sure why, but I never got around to fitting it however it should be installed by the end of next weekend. I haven't even checked whether it will fit, but fingers crossed that nothing has changed too much in the swap from LHD to RHD.
Will post pic's once it's in.
thanks

Jolt - when you try this can you take photos of the process and post up here? You will probably be the first person in Aus to do this.
When I mentioned I am not sure if it will fit - I was referring mainly to the braces on the Euro connecting the strut towers to the firewall. If you look at photos of the TSX engine bay - it does not have this bracing. Instead the TSX uses a full tower bar.
These minor differences can make installation interesting and it may be you need to remove the Euro strut bracing. Good luck - make sure you take photos!

I read the instructions for the comptech strut bar on the tsx forums. There are various mounting points on the bar itself to mount the accessories on. Also, there are 2 bits that connects the strut towers to the firewall, so you would have to remove the existing ones.

It will be cheaper than the Comptech - retail is something like $400 AUD for the Comptech and that does not include shipping to Aus.
You didn't look hard enough on the net ;) - look for tower bars for CL7 - Spoon have a tower - is around $170USD

The Comptech one is ridiculously expensive for what it is and (what I suspect will be) the limited improvement it will provide to what is an already very rigid chassis, but I find it hard to say no to almost anything made from titanium!!
Yes, I'll weigh all the pieces, take plenty of photo's and post them here or to a website.
regards
Rod
PS: The billet aluminium arms which attach the titanium Comptech bar to the strut tops and the firewall are absolute works of art. The photo's on their website don't do them justice.
In all seriousness they belong in a gallery.
thanks

Be wary that the K24's height is higher than the K20 that is in the Euro R. Therefore the ancillaries might have a different location.

I'm looking at getting the Comptech rear sway bar, but I couldn't get a quote on shipping cost from them. Anyone know a trustworthy site where i can import some Comptech stuff from US?? Or better still, anywhere here locally that has the Comptech (or other brand) rear sway bars??

ANy update on this Rod - fitted yet?Sorry guys, I didn't get a chance to fit it before the busy festive season and unfortunately my wife and I separated soon after. :( She drove my Euro 95% of the time (I usually drive my MX5), so she still has it for the moment but I should be getting it back by the end of January.
Hopefully I'll have an update for you all soon after that, I certainly have more time to work on my cars now!! ;) At this stage I plan on keeping both cars, but I may be looking to sell the Euro and therefore I have a few parts which have never been fitted which I'll need to sell too, like the Comptech strut brace, the Injen CAI, Hondata intake manifold heatshield gasket and Apexi V-AFC II.
Will keep you updated with any news ...
thanks
