hi guys,
so basically by mistake,
i was crusing at 4th gear in my ek1,
and knocked the gear stick up by accident.
it poped outta 4th with little resistance.
so i tried again in both 3rd and 4th, same effect, but not game enough to do it to 1st or 2nd.
i was jsut wondering if this is normal or is my gearbox fkin up?

nope it's normal with no throttle

try again while giving it some throttle, you won't be able to knock it out again with the same amount of force :)

o ok thanks man.

also, 1st gear makes a whirling noise when im about 30+ km/h even when i have clutched in. sign of an old gearbox? =S

yehit's called clutchless shifting. You can get it into higher gears too if u can get the timing and the revs right.

the sound might be ur synchros going funny

I love clutchless shifting, it's fun! I remember my first car (N13 Pulsar Q, great little thing), the clutch cable snapped and it was about two weeks before I could afford to get it fixed, I just drove it regardless. No clutch? No worries. It's when you got no brakes that's the big problem. :D

haha.
clutchless shifting, is it bad for the box?

if you do it perfectly, it's fine... I'm not taking that chance though!

it is terrible for your gearboxHow so? Obviously if you suck and keep missing/crunching sure, but if you get the revs right it pops in nicely...

thats exactly what i mean, if you suck :zip:
2 someone at a skill level like you troy it pops in perfect...
people don't know how to drive

Anyway, there's no need to do it... unless you got a dog box mwuahahahaha!!!!
