B16 em1 gear box problems-wa

HI

for some reason when i put the veh in reverse and pull the clutch up slightly (very slightly) the veh sounds as if it gona stall,and somethimes when the veh is in reverse it locks UP not allowing me to put the veh into gear .when this happens i have let go of the cluth and than the gear open out causing a bang. is this gear box or clutch problems?

any good places in perth to have it checked out?

If it only happens in reverse and not in 1st gear, sounds like a gearbox issue. check the gear linkages for firmness and stabiliser bar for rigidity (2 rods leading to gearbox).
Possible idler, or arm.

shot bearing maybe? or something loose/out of alignment inside the box.
check all joints on the shift linkage and stabiliser bar (not just where they connect to the g-box), inspect your mounts while you're at it.
with a breaker bar, a few sockets and a mate or 2 you can pull your box out and take it in for inspection. will save you a packet in labour. if u crack it open too, even better!
