Basically it has no sound deadening or bonnet lining or boot carpet, a thinner windscreen and lighter radiator, and no sunroof unless the original buyer was a moron.

some1 confirm for me, but i think type r's in general dnt have sound deadening but i would say it could be the complete engine is slightly lighter aswell

Yeah flywheel, and the intake manifold would be lighter than the Vti-R dual runner intake.

Purely IMO, but as a purists car it's unnecessary weight placed high in the chassis.

the sunroof can add up to 10-20kgs ...
Purely IMO, but as a purists car it's unnecessary weight placed high in the chassis.
T-onedc2 is correct - sunroof being located at the top of the car makes its center of gravity higher and reduces structural rigidity (but i think that's when its open or something annoying like that)

Its not just the weight in general, its where the weight is placed. Sunroof is high causing a higher center of gravity. If you had a choice where to put the weight it would be low down and close to the ground as possible.

yeah i know that lol, isnt that why we all dump our coilovers, to get lower center of gravity :P
just saying lol~a sunroof was enough back then for you to be able to put a rb26 in ure s13. amazing
