Hey guys, im planning to replace the stock back speakers in my fd2.
Just wondering if any one knows what speakers would run best in my fd2, taking consideration that i will be keeping my factory head unit and will not be purchasing an amp.
My choice so far is an eclipse SE6500

Im after some good/decent bass, not after a sub though.
Thanks.

since you wont be amping them at all, i wouldnt go for an expensive speaker since the power input is going to be the same as what youve got
what about a kicker DS series?

Hey ej20i, i cant seem to find the kicker series in Perth.
If i was to purchase an eclipse, keeping my factory head unit and not amping them, would the sound quality and bass be exactly the same as my current stock speakers? or will it be significantly better?

will it be significantly better? it should be better in terms of sound quality, why not try to buy an amp with speaker level output?, i want to change my rear speaker first with coax focal or BA, i suggest invest in a good equipment because later on you might upgrade your head unit and add more amp..
david, i think the power output is only around 10w-15W only
or if you want to convert your speaker output to RCA..

hey fitme, im not really wanting to purchase an amp, just wanting to replace my stock speakers keeping my factory head unit, i am 100% sure that in the near future i would not be upgrading my head unit or adding amps.
Im just hoping that if i replace the stock ones they will have better base and sound quality =)
Do you know of any good speakers that will do the job i want fitme? Or will the eclipse do just fine ?

sounds quality will be better much better
but downside, since your not amping them, it will softer (not as loud) and wont last u as long (voice coil)

seriously, go for an amp. You'll notice more difference than with the stock amp.

hey mate, i installed alpine type s speakers in mine. i found there really isnt much difference because of the stock HU. the clarity and bass is a tad better but no where near as what it sounded like with a proper headunit
