I was scoping through Singapore ebay and found this for a civic FD

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/Wind-Booster-Performance-Chip-For-Honda_W0QQitemZ220534979915QQcategoryZ6755QQcmdZVi ewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSI%26 its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BRTQ%26otn%3D10%26ps%3D63

I'm quite sceptical about the potential (if any) performance output of the "Wind Booster."

Has anyone bought one of these before??

They work. Buddyclub have a similar product. Both work the same, though it's not called a 'wind booster'.

With newer hondas and the "drive by Wire', the throttle response is a little laggy. The above product just works on minimising the 'lag' and initiates acceleration instantaneously as though the car operated with a throttle cable.

This is just a device that intercepts and alters the signal from the accelerator pedal to the throttle body control unit - very much like a Piggback ECU that intercepts signal to the fuel injectors.

I have friends who removed these things after installation because they caused a number of drivability issues.

We had a short discussion on this in the Euro section. In short, don't waste your money.

I was actually interested in the buddyclub sprint booster because the pedal setup on the civic is not so good for heel and toe .. but not sure whether its worth it

don't buy. rip off, it amplifies the signal from your pedal...

so if u press the pedal @ 50%, the ecu will recieve 70% (etc.)

if u press @100%, the ecu will still register 100% (cos it can't do more).

total waste.

Don't waste your time/money.

If you are thinking the pedal seems a little laggy, have you checked to see if the cable is indeed loose? You should be able to tighten it up.

The FD Civic has an electronic throttle. Honda's programming makes it a little laggy.
