I bought a Civic VTi Auto yesterday and the salesman promised me a 2010 model, but Im not sure if it really will be a 2010 model. Are the 2010 model even out yet? Will be picking up the car at the end of the month or early next month. Should I really be expecting a 2010 model?

If its anything like our 4x4, which was built in December 1999 but bought and registered in early 2000 then I doubt it would be a 2010 car. We are only 5 days in!

u will get a 2010 civic, we now have the MY10 civics,

the Vti's now get curtian airbags standard and there are 2 new colours and rallye red is deleted.

u will get a 01/2010 complied car so yes its a 2010 model.
We even had some of the 2010 models in late december.

hi civit VTI! how much was it? i just bought a 2010 vti last week for 26grand drive away (i was not supposed to buy instantly as i'm still haggling for the best deal that i could get,but i dont know why i sealed the deal).. still waiting for the delivery hopefully next week.. still a good deal i reckon as VSA and curtain airbags are standard for VTI.. still, i could have haggled for more.. *sigh*

Civic VTi now has better safety features than when Sport first came out. I bought mine VTi in 2008 and is missing out on so much goodies!

05-01-2010, 06:45 PM
yeah that's my consolation.. but still,i reckon i could have bargained a little bit more.. like the foglights should stay.. and i was promised a full tank and mettalic paint, but when i signed the list of freebies, i didn't see it there.. i never bothered to ask.. tsk tsk tsk

so the only difference now on VTi and VTiL are side airbags, rims, and steering audio control only?, VtiL auto is around 30k driveaway....4k higher from vti

Nah, VTi has side airbags since last year, it just got added curtain airbags this year. So all the civics now across the range have the same safety features.

Yeah alloys and audio control still missin from Vti

Vti-L does still have a few more things over VTi, such as audio control on steering, climate control, alarm, temp display in dash etc

nah.. they both have the same number of airbags.. rims are different.. yeah audio control on the steering wheel, climate control (which they same dont make that much difference compared with ordinary ac)

I got mine back in 08 for 23k drive away manual with fuel and matts, which I thought was average. I know since then there has been 2 (maybe more) price rises already. So a Vti auto for 26k driveway is a decent price, although hard bargaining never hurts:)

also can i ask, can i change the rims like in a few mos? will it void the warranty? i actually posted this question in another topic but i would appreciate if you have some idea.. they say, as long as the modification is not the source of the problem, it won't void the warranty.. but some say it depends on the dealer.. thanks

Exactly:) you just got a new car, time to celebrate and not question yourself. Plus you got alot more safety features than cars that are manufactured just over a year ago (plus boot release).

With mods, it is dealer depedent to a certain extent. If however you changed it to a Honda rims then I guess less likely they will void warranty on your suspension, but IF they wanted to, any non approved accessory mods could THORETICALLY void your warranty.

oh no.. full body kit except the spoiler... it was just used in a car show.. and i very good friend of mine.. i actually talk to him and we could organise some shipment here as it's really cheap compared here.. but my worry is just the fees to pay here and since let's say 3 or 4 kits will be shipped, even separately, what is the likelihood that customs would notice it and charge us?

i called the shipping company and it charges 200usd for 1 cubic metre of goods regardless of weight (although there wont be prob with that) 1 cu metre is like 3 boxes side by side.. and i reckon just 2 boxes would fit the length of the longest part.. u reckon?

as its been said before, the 2010 spec model has full airbags, some were released in late 2009, they will have a 12/09 compliance plate, ones in jan will have a 01/10 plate.

both the same car.

i got my 2010 VTI manual for 23,990 last year(well ordered last dec b4 xmas) and got metallic paint for free (as advertised on news paper).

but i got 3party stuff like paint/dent/interior protection and tint for another 1.3k

also got carpet (this was meant to be free but they charged me $240 cus i brought the news paper in and told em metallic paint was free and i got charged), full weather protection on side windows and 2years dealer warranty (so total of 5years)

The dealer said the car should arrive about 1st week of Jan, then they call me up and said mid march >.<, but they said if i wanted black (over my original sparkle gray pearl) i can get it in mid Feb, so i went with the black.

but yeah the total cost of the car was under 26k

not many dealers at all will put on a civic sport as a demo, best thing is find a vti or vti-l man and test drive that to get the feel for the clutch and gear box..

the power difference between the 2 isnt that great so will be good to try!

Hey Guys,

Just brought my 2010 a couple of weeks ago, and this is what i got for it,

Bulid Jan 2010, MY10 and obviously complied 10,

Honda Civic VTI-L, with Mats, Fogs, Rear Sensors, Tint, Fulltank of Fuel, and Mudflaps for 29400 d/a, was orginally 29k even, but added the sensors and fogs in after the deal, still even the dealers is taking a loss on those.

Shopped round 5 dealers in Sydney.

Car is still on the Boat as of today, with Early March delivery

Thourght guys, i think this is a ripper deal

Hey CivicVTI,

Just to clear it up for you, MY10 model cars (all manufac) are called that from about september onwards, its just the trend from the US, getting a MY11 model in the Fall(autumn) of 2010 - merely a marketing ploy,

When i was looking at the civics (getting mine in March), 3 things in Aus matter, Bulid Date - found on the body as you open the passenger side front door, near sill, i think with MY10 Oct/Nov onwards is MY10 cars, Compliance plate, found in engine bay ( from memory it againest the firewall on the right side of the engine bay(standing in front of the car looking back) this plate gets fitted in Austraila at the docks, and when you come to sell the care, this plate matter for resale, and Model year 09, 10, 11 etc.

IF your VTI has the words "SRS Curtian Airbag" on the "A" piller (sit in the drivers seat, and look to the right side of the windscreen) then its definatly a 2010 model,

Cheers S....
