My panels vibrate to the bass of the music which can be heard inside and outside of the car!

does anybody else have this issue with their FD's??? If i go to a Honda dealership will they do anything about it? Such as replace my panels or do something to fix them, or will they just say bs like its "normal", my car is still relatively new, only done 1,900 k so far.

If anybody knows a DIY please advice =] ty.

Do you have an aftermarket sound system?

curtis265
07-01-2010, 01:24 PM
happens with the stock system, you can install soundproofing if u really want..

no i dont have aftermarket sound system, just the factory sound system, can Honda dealerships soundproof the panels for me? if so, how much would they charge me?

soundproofing wont remove the rattle, i read somewhere something that you can put some weather stripping or some sort of foam between the door panel and the metal to stop the rattle, as thats where its coming from, blu tack may work too, worked on my speaker brackets

I fitted Dyanmats on my doors and it does help to stop noise and rattle in the door. Make a good expensive car like thump when you close the door :)

thats the way to go but dynamats is way overpriced....

What's dynamat made of anyway? I imagine you could find an alternative easily.

Mrcivic09

Whats the price for dyanmats?

I agree with curtis265 as well, there should be a easier alternative.

haha my door rattles as well, its so annoying. yeah im probably going to sound proof it. a small box of dynaxorb from autobarn is 160. not to sure about dynamat, pretty sure it will only be about 100. try mobile electronics, they have that sort of stuff for sale for cheap.

Same thing happend to me as well, I just fade the sound more to the back. Insted of 50/50 I just turn it 30/70 that removes the rattles.

I hope this can help.

yeah fading the sound back to the rear speakers does solve the problem, however, for some reason, to me the back speakers dont produce the same bass as the front ones do.

LOL i got too much bass and my door rattles as well. This is probably due to the plastic poppers beeing broken and they cant stick into the door anymore. What i did was get new plastic poppers and tape the door panel at the bottom to the metal part of the door. problem solved and the tape cant be seen unless you really2 duck down and look for it

If you have an aftermarket system with a sub, tune the speakers to 0 bass so it pretty much just puts out treble and bass to the sub..

No bass in the speakers = no distortion and vibration.
I also dynamatted my boot

Thats my experience :D

the rattling is annoying when you're listening to music, just dynamat your doors, its a timely process if you are willing to do it yourself but its worth it in the end.

its like sticking blu tac on the door, simple diy

My doors did rattle as well. However i managed to solve this by using Stinger RoadKill Sound deadening which was a little cheaper than the Dynamate stuff and the sales guys side it was slightly thicker and heavier. I applied this to both the metal and plastic parts of the door. I also put a MDF panel over the massive hole in the door which you see when you take the panel off. This plus the Roadkill sound deadening has taken care of most rattles and road noise.

my whole car is dynamatted and i still get the door rattle, but i have a pretty hafty sound system. my advice is if you are confident, just take off ur door panel and tighten everything up every now and then. heavy bass will loosen the tightest screws over time.

Mythbusters thought heavy bass could loosen your rectum too.

u mean the rattle comes from there????? and u can hear in the car.... so the rattle does not come from the dash?????

my rattle sounded like it was coming from the dash but it wasnt.it was kinda near the a-pilla.

and since most of the plastic has been ripped out of my front guards it was easy to find the source of the rattle and fix it.

u mean that the front plastic guards are off bcos the tyres are touching the guards when u lower the car?

there are some rattles in my car that comes from the dash near the a-pillar. so to fix this i need to take off the whole guards. But whats inside there that cause the rattles??? i can imagine that there are only bolts and nuts in there and i don think that the bolts and nuts are loose.

thank u.

yeah. big rims + lowered = bye bye plastic.

there was a bit of metal on metal that i found that was making the rattle.

if its the same as mine you'll be able to tell by tapping the panels with your finger around where the rattle is coming from.

I cant upload photos at work and don’t have a computer at home. Or a camera. Lol

Mine was coming from the front quarter panel just under the side mirror. Without the plastic taken off you wont be able to see anything when looking under the wheel arch.

You might have to take the plastic off….

if you tap the pannels with your finger around the side mirror does it sound like an empty tin can and hollow-ish?? or does it sound solid??
