Hi all i'm new here, just got my accord euro. i have noticed that the first gear is ridiculously short :| does anyone drive in such a way that allows it to be at least competitive off the line? it is a 6 spd manual btw :) first post here and cant wait to get more involved with this forums activities and discussions :D

EURO isnt for racing use. its a luxury car .do a type R gearbox if u want that racing feel. :)

Also, I reckon the 6spd box goes perfect with the engine setup, one if the nicest ratio cars I've driven..

1st gear goes up to 60km/h which is standard for most normal manual family sedans.

actually better then most std family cars, as it's a 6spd box and not a 5spd.. and it's a very snappy gear considering it pulls for so long.

I think the problem is that 2nd is a tad too long =/

Too long for a track car, but just right for a family car. Being able to get to freeway speeds with just 1 gearchange is better than with 2 gearchanges, especially if you are slow at changing gears. :)

The 1st gear in the CL9 box is the exact same ratio as the 1st in the CL7 Euro-R. It's just the stupidly long 2nd gear that makes the 1st seem really short.

its a euro, 2.4l 4 banger family sedan.... they can be very competetive of the line, providing the car your trying to race is in reverse with the hand brake on... and has no engine, or wheels..... or driver :P congrats on the purchase by the way!
ps- before any one says it, throught the corners is a completely different story though, with a few suspension mods of course ;)
