talk to ray at re customs (http://www.recustoms.com.au) he may be able to work out something for you. otherwise talk to the boys at chaser's motorworks (http://chasersmotorworks.com.au) because i know they've worked with s2000's before

Id be interested in hearing how much this is going to cost. post up the details when you find out. vtec + turbo = jet :). a buddy of mine had a vtec/turbo type are civic and to this day its one of the fastest cars Ive ever been in

I wouldn't expect change from a $7K cheque.

the greddy bolt on kit can be had for 4350us delivered from the states. if you have a friend handy and dont mind the diy you could probably do it yourself over a couple of days.

But how many people are confident enough to bolt a small turbo system to a Honda motor such as the F20?
Then there's tuning costs on top of (self) install.
Then you'll want more power, and you'll start upgrading the Greddy system (which only upgrades so far before you hit a brick wall). Then you'll need a clutch because of the extra power. You start reaching the point where you begin to question the reliability of your OEM diff and want to upgrade that while you're at it.
Before you know it, you're well past $8K with a kit you can't go any further with, wishing you spent the extra $$$ to go Inline / Mase / PFab etc in the first case since it would of cost you less in the long run.

fair point. guess it depends on how much power you want to run (though as you said you always want more). i think 200kwatw is plenty for an s2k. if you want more though go for the mase kit (its 9k i think?)

inline kits aren't RHD compatible, i asked them when enquiring about their stage one kit.

anyone have any ideas about roadworthy + insurance regarding this? if we install a greddy bolt-on kit, do we have to go get an engineering's cert etc?

yes, everything that isnt ADR approved u need a engineers certificate. even if u do get it done cop can still ping u for it.

insurance will definitely go up

I informed JCI about my ECU & S/C setup etc. No rise in premiums.

In QLD all you need is a mod plate. $150 from any reputable workshop. I got mine done @ Hi Power Racing who used a private engineer from nearby Tanah Merah.

insurance was prob maxed out from all previous mods.

im with JCI and they said cos i done so much stuff to my car it not gonna make a difference if i do any more to it, its gonna stay the same.

great, so engineer's cert would only be a couple hundred?? and you can use this and shove it in the cop's face right?

ludecrs

Correct.

I mounted mine in the boot under the rear deck lid. It was the only flat surface area I could find to fit a Mod Plate. LOL.

Cost is generally stanard fee of about $150.

nice nice... looks like my turbo can happen soon... oh, what happens if... my car is registered in victoria, but its in queensland, and i get an eng cert done in qld? does it matter?

Riced_Civic

u just have to change the registration.

im melb u actually need a certificate which cost can cost in the thousands.

getting an engineer's cert in melb for a turbo s2k will require front brakes getting upgraded and an emissions/db test presented im pretty sure. would be alot less brain frying to re-register in qld and get mod plate up there

Ah yes, you also have to provide proof of a better braking standard - ie: larger calipers / rotors / better pads.

ahhh... gg. BBK's are like huge $$$. I'm running carbotech XP8 pads atm which are rated almost to CCX's... probs half way between DS2500 and CCX's... but if i really need a BBK in QLD, ill just forget turboing and buy a SC Exige. *Drools*
