Hi All,
I got a friend who is going to buy a 99' S2000 with 200,000k's for $20k is this too much for a car that has high k's and is it still reliable at this stage?
Please let me know what you think guys?
Thanks,

Guy in the US has 400000KM, still on the original engine. He's just gone through an engine mount and 3 clutches.

Its about average for a daily over 10years.
As long as its serviced on time; everything sounds right, there shouldnt be a problem.
Theres higher kms car out there, you're just cautious cause its an s2000.

Youd rather buy a car with genuine K's than one that keeps advertising its low K's.
Clocking back the s2000 odometer is not as hard as it seems.

just on a point of interest. $20k for a 200K car is a bit much. I have seen 140k for 19 etc

Is that a S2000? I doubt it.
Compare that S2000 to other S2000's on the market too, for e.g;

So 20k seems an okay price to me.

20k seems alright man, you could try haggle it more probably...
I know a family friend with 500,000kms on a Honda Legend, still original motor... No issues with it still.
Regularly serviced.. If it's all done correctly like others have said, it should be okay.

Most cheap with low klm s2k are written off or is on revs.
My mate was looking for an s2k. And was feeling abit cheap. So looked at alot of cheap s2ks.
Not one was clean.

i got my 2000 model with 150,000 for 20,000. it was adveritised for 22 and i haggled it down. out of all the s2000s I looked at it was in the best condition as well. I cant fault it aside from a few small tears in the roof and a foggy back window but its pretty hard to find one with a good roof at 10 years of age.
Keep hunting for a bargain and look at alot of them until you find the right one. thats my advice. it took me about 8 months to find my one but it was worth the wait.

You get what you pay for, no seller is doing you any favours...

I just got my '99 S2000 last weekend. You might recognise it. ;)
Anyway, it's not quite 200K, but not to far off, and for the price was GREAT! The biggest selling point to me was that the roof that was replaces about 6 months ago with an aftermarket one with a glass window. And on top of that, the rest of the car is very clean, and has been looked after well.
I'd say, go for it! There's always good cars like this around. Just got to be patient.

Nope. it was Silverstone. :) I haven't seen a red one come up that's been affordable (and in decent condition) for a long time.
