sorry for the noob-ish-ness

whats the redline for the 2004 s2000.. I know america got the 2.2L but we still have the f20c..

In saying that i did read in a review that from 2004 onwards, the f20c was dropped to 8200RPM ?

thanks

We still have the F20C, only the US got the F22 ; our redline is still the same @ 9000ish rpm.

ok guys..

had a test drive.. heres my impressions

Pro's:

Engine + gearbox is Smooth, feels like new
Full service history through honda
single owner
Driven by a 60+ year old female
interior is in really good condition
price

Cons:

small dent on rear bar
scratches on rear bar (approx the size of a cd case with lines of scratches - could be from scratching on another car etc)
scratched lower front bar (can see abit on the pics)
cracked lower front bar (about 4cm long)
two pretty noticeable paintchips either side of the honda badge.. funnily enough, they look very proportional to each other and are exactly the same size (5 cent coin)
small dent on drivers side door
3rims are scuffed up pretty bad on the lip
Spare key was lost (only 1 key given)

.................................................. ..........

Price is not really negotiable all that much.. so what do you guys think ?
I mean its a very decent price, although im trying to factor in how much it will cost to fix these little odds and ends..

the silver one in victoria going for 41k is a better deal.. u'll rack up kms pretty on s2k.. its addictive to drive... plus i think ive seen the owner was like 50+ y.o man.

there should be 3 sets of keys. one black one grey and one red.

red is master, grey is spare, black is the everyday one (i think thats how it works)

ahh i see

so is there any difference in what each key does? and do they look different?

ive contacted someone about their car but they only have the black key, they said they were never given the red or grey when they bought it second hand. would this be a problem?

Bought mine second hand 6 years ago, and same deal. One black key. It's never really been an issue, however I have thought that id be completely screwed if i lost my only set.

I guess it all depends if you wanna spend the $$$ to get the replacements, or use it as a bargaining tool to lower the asking price

at the same time tho the owner can turn around and argue back that majority of 2nd hand s2k are sold with only black key. also you shouldnt be chasing a bargain for a car that is worth wat they are asking. i know its good to save some dollars so they can go into mods, but at the same time think about how you feel when you sell a car and person after person low balls you. it gets f**king annoying

The grey key can't open the centre console. It's meant to be used as a spare, but also as a valet-type key.

yea I dont intend on lowballing the guy because of the misplaced keys,

I just want to know what the replacement cost will be so if I do take the car, I know how much extra I have to add on top.. would be a real headache losing the only key

i dont think many come with the red key. mine only came with 2 black ones and a grey one too. but red is master so it should be able to open everything.

BulletBoy

turns out the red key is used to programme a new set of keys if you lose all your spares,

without the red, according to the guy at honda, if you lose your spares you will need to replace your whole immobilizer module which is around $700+

and you should never try and start the car with your red key

IMO, it worth all the money, maybe not a honda factory, but at least a aftermarket one
