My car is a ek4, and my instrumennt light suddenly just started popping fuses. The fuse is 7.5 amp. When i put in a new fuse and turn on the light, then the fuse blows. I have killed 5 fuses so far so I believe it is time for a diffrent approach. Any suggestions?

sounds like a faulty bulb, or a wire is shorting somewhere.

sounds like a wiring short behind the head unit for sure, check all the wiring, make sure its insulated and connected to the correct wires.

Thanks

there ia a specker amp under the seat, and today i tried the fix the seat because it was stucked. I moved the amp and the power cable was losing, and i scew the cable back to place. everything is working fine ( i mean the audio system), but except the instrument light, fuses keep popping. So, would it be the problem?

when you move the amp, you must have shorted something... check that

Did you look at the wiring behind the head unit yet like I was saying?

did a mod on OH do the wiring? if so they have known to be idiots and need to learn something about car audio to give help in their own section

Sounds like you accidently cut one of the amp wires, while moving the amp, on a seat rail and has become a short to ground causing it to have power all the time, as long as it's touching metal.

If not, then I would go with B18cEG's advice. Maybe one of the wires going to the head unit got pulled too hard and is making contact on metal instead of the unit itself.

Good luck!
