Cleaning Rims

What's the easiest/cheapest way to clean up the chrome lip on my mr-5's please:

the easiest way is to jsut forget about it and put the rims into a box and ship them to me to worry about them :) drooool..

if you really love your MR5's.. dis-assemble them into their 2/3 pieces then polish the lip/rim with some Mother's MEtal Polish paste.. should come up pretty easilly :)

if you CBF'd splitting the rims, just get the Mother's 'Metal Polysh' and go nuts on the rim - being carefull not to damage the inner part/spokes.

i was about to say the same the brand mother's metal polysh = GG HECTIC POLISH or u can use the supercheap auto one metal polish pretty good too

brake dust corrosion causing a small pits.

I just use normal metal & chrome polish every few months.

cutlery polish works best for me...

use a clay bar to lift the brake dust and to polish, ask your local tyre place if you can borrow their wheel balancing machine for an hour or two.

What worked the best for me in the end to get that caked on brake dust off was the green scouring part on ya dishwashing sponge + metho.I did strip a little bit of paint off but just touched it up again.

Pics bro? I use Meguire's metal polish for my rims/exhaust/rocker cover/headers. It rocks, little bit dear though.

Yep beeza those scouring pads work a treat. You can also use them to apply polish on some metals no worries and it comes up great without leaving scratches. I would recommended testing first.

Not sure about the use of metho, might be a little strong, hence the paint coming off, but ordinary white vinegar gives good results from experience.

When I'm dealing with stainless or chrome, I love to finish with the mothers metal product. Leaves a great shine.;)

try a tooth brush always works a treat for cleaning any rims, ofcourse wit cleanin products

beezer, use some cutting compound on the paint.
i used autoglym 03B to clean some oxidised paint on my wheels. there was some stains too which i couldnt remove with heavy degreaser.
came off with the cutting compound. i used a hand buffing pad. it came off good.
