Hey there Oz:wave:! Hemi here from NY. I'm originally a TRD (Toyota Racing Development) fan but got pulled into the Honda world by friends. Unfortunately, the Honda scene out here is getting ridiculously stupid and immature here in NY due an increasing number of thieves and fake wannabes who buy a honda now-a-days for attention.
Anyways, I once owned an original stock 94' DB8, raced it, got bored; upgraded the top to bottom end, exhaust and exterior looks; then got bored again and to get it tuned was going to take a while so I sold it in March 2009. Then I bought an original 95' DC and again wanted to do something different but faster. So in April 09', I sold my gsr motor and tranny along with other parts. We switched the gsr suspension with itr suspension along with some other upgrades, and finally did a J-swap.
It's still under construction. A shop and I are currently working on it to get it done. Others have been accomplishing this goal since 2005 and yet it is still rare because the more money you have, the faster it will get done by the right person who has done it before. However, in my case, I work a full time job that pays enough to get me through my bills and full time college making it hard for me to have time and money to put into it.
Slowly but surely though, it will get done. I have always worked hard to be different and put a lot of work into my cars to prove it. I hope to feel welcomed to yet another Honda forum and learn even more from another side of the Honda scene. I also look forward to help out to the best of my knowledge.
I will post more pics but here are some to give you an idea:
This was my first honda: 94' DB8

This was the set up we did before selling it. It's still the original B18C1. I just changed the valve cover to an Si b/c the GSR valve cover was messed up.

This is not my first GSR but instead my first DC2

:thumbsup:Thanks for the first welcome:wave:! I wish I was in Australia. I heard the import scene is bananas (awesome) over there! My friend managed to bring me two import mags and I was impressed. Wow I didn't know parts were expensive in Australia. Makes me think twice about living here. BTW, Nice Teg in your avatar, do my eyes deceive me or is that a 94-97?

Thank you. And sorry about that:o. It was almost 1 a.m and I was rushing thru it to sleep for work at 6 am (different time zone hehe) but I will keep that in mind;).
I will share as much as I can about the J series and when I get a chance, I'll even throw in a build thread whenever possible being that my time is always limited by college and work. I have pics that have to be organized to demonstrate the process. Thanks so much for your interest!:D

Hey we meet again! Yeah, you're right, we hate that it's on the left hand side.
Most import fans down here in NY would kill (not literally) to have a right hand drive car but only deep pockets can accomplish that here;).
Thanks for another welcome!

one question... why do you prefer RHD? i thought being used to LHD vehicles you would naturally prefer them

Yea tell me about it haha:). The shop and I are still working on it since Apr 09'.
TYVM for the welcome. This is the shop owner's first attempt at this so we're going to need all the luck we can get lol.
It might not make a big difference, but I prefer RHD over LHD because it's different than the usual, everyday LHD here in NY. It would also make my daily driving a bit more exciting, if only for a few months then I probably wouldn't make a difference to me anymore.
Over here, Honda's all look the same and I hate that because it makes it boring to have a Honda. So that conversion would be something to consider where I come from. Only problem is.... THIEVES. Not even a garage can keep our cars safe:(. So it's rare to see a RHD car and a JDM front as well.
Thieves are a problem everywhere you go, although it sounds like quite the problem where you are. Get a mean-muther rottweiler.

lol down here, they would shoot the dog with a silencer and take the car.
Welcome to ozhonda. I heard about NY thieves it's bad here in aus but not as much but ye you guys have cheap parts :(
Thanks for the welcome! True story thieves are everywhere, but when I say it is bad out here, it really, really is. You can't even make friends with honda ppl down here without them taking your car:eek:! How messed up is that? Instead of everyone sharing their passion for Hondas, they compete against eachother by stealing here. Whatever though, you live and you learn. New York is definitely not the place where dreams are made of lol.
Thanks for telling me that. Now I actually have a good reason to like living here: cheaper parts:thumbsup: Who would've thought???
Well guys, just so yall know, I got to stop by the shop one of these days to take better pics of how the jswap currently looks and then hopefully in a few days I'll post a build thread of it. Thanks again all for the warm welcome

Welcome Hemi.
I would have never considered our car scene to be much good, especially compared to yours.
Parts are more expensive here in part due to our relative isolation from the rest of the world. Also not as many people modify Honda's here so prices are big for quality parts.
Funnily enough it's cheaper to buy from the USA and have it shipped out here almost all of the time. It all depends on which economy you want to support.

OMG is it ever but I like the cold rather than hot. The funny thing is I was born in summer!! Go figure ey lol.
As for the DB8s, I feel like nobody was rocking them when I had mine... yet as soon as I sold mine, ppl were crazy looking to buy them. F-ing ppl here man, they always trying to cop everyone elses style. I feel the DB's drive better than DC's.... but that's just me.
Anyways, thanks for the welcome and good to see you enjoyed your stay:thumbsup:

Yea man, I've lived here since I was 7 yrs old and I'm 23 now so you can see why I'm getting tired of living here when i was complaining about it in my other posts. But I've lived in Pennsylvania for a year and half too.
There's not much to photograph where I live because I'm in the suburbs and the city is an hour away from me. Long Island is where I reside mate.

As for Ground Zero, it's ok, still kinda empty b/c they're too busy worrying about making it look pretty instead of what really matters. But I can't wait till they come up with something. I barely go to the city but I'm planning to go soon.

Over here, we measure in Fahrenheit but in Celsius, it's 4 degrees and it's 7:30 pm as I'm writing. Frozen grass or frozen anything is no surprise here.
We in NY get all types of weather depending on the season. The only exception are tornadoes and tsunamis. Everyone has to wake up earlier for work just to clean the cars from frosted ice. lol I was late to work b/c of that:p

Oh and good news, all the wiring has been hooked up for the swap. All that's left is to disable the immobilizer so the engine can start up and a couple of body parts like fenders and mayber a bumper and a freaking paint job but that might not happen.
IDC as long as the damn thing starts. It could've been done months ago but college kills your pockets and this is our first J-series project so I guess it will have to do.

supposedly as much as a b-series engine & tranny. It only looks heavier b/c all the plastic covers make it look bulky, but without them, it doesn't look as heavy.
